During the LKCAtelier you will be experiencing an arts-integrated lesson by participating in it. Next the definition of arts integration will be deconstructed and connected to this example lesson. The session will be completed with a Q&A session focused on the field of arts integration.

About Sean Layne

Sean is the founder of Focus 5 Inc, a US-based national arts education consulting company. He holds a B.F.A. degree in acting and studied acting in London, England. Sean has worked in the field of arts integration for 25 years. He leads residencies for students K-8 (ages 5-14), presents workshops for teachers, and has designed training seminars for teaching artists nationwide for The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He is also an Arts Coach for the Kennedy Center’s Changing Education Through the Arts program.

Preparation

To be prepared for this LKCAtelier, you will receive an inlog of the online course designed by Focus 5. This online course includes video’s of the definition of art integration and an example of an arts integrated lesson. The question: ‘Why arts integration?’ is also part of this online course. It will take about two hours to watch all the video’s. To be able to participate in this LKCAtelier it’s necessary to do this preparation.
